The FPS (Focal Power Symmetric) amplifiers range provides an embedded double-sided PCB without parasitic effects between the different electronic components and also reducing amplifier size. The additional tinning of specially studied track areas provides the high-current transmission required for ensuring the power indicated whatever the circumstances.
Electronic component combining the simple gate-drive characteristics of Mosfets with the lowsaturation voltage capability of classical bipolar transistors. They offer increased linearity, conducive to subjective audio parameters improvement, whatever the audio output power required.
A key point in the amplification chain, the power supply capacitors act as reserves of energy used by IGBTs directly responsible for transforming this energy source into amplified audio signals. Providing them an energy reserve that must be by itself naturally ample, but also fast (low-resistive), results directly in optimal control of “transient sounds” and significantly enhances the dynamic character of audio reproduction.
This optional plug-in device offers the opportunity to increase operating current capacity further. When connected, it provides output final stage IGBTs an oversized power capacitance, which enables them to fully express their dynamic range and speaker control; whatever the audio output power requested by the electro-acoustic systems.
The terminals selected for FPS amplifiers offer a complete integration of the cable sheath, so that any short-circuit risks, typical of incorrect power cable installation, are eliminated at the source.
Mounted on ball bearings and providing a contact-free power supply system to prevent any parasitic effects, the FPS range ventilation system operates over 50°C to stabilize any temperature rise as quickly as possible. Beyond this, operating speed is thermo-controlled in order to compensate the most extreme electronic uses.
Air vents are located at strategic points throughout FPS chassis to control internal airflow. Thanks to the low-noise and low-speed ventilation system, based directly on computer most recent cooling techniques, the air is guided through the edge of the amplifier and circulates as closely as possible to the highest-thermal generative components. It is then expelled by the central fan, just above the power supply key components.
Available on three of the four models in the range, this remote control is used for adjusting subwoofer levels on FPS 1500, for controlling the gain on the two channels of FPS 2300 RX and channels 3 & 4 of FPS 4160. Each remote control offers a “MUTE” button for muting the dedicated channels.
Mounted between the chassis and the location where the amplifier is fixed, these absorption pads work like a real decoupling system, controlling the vibrations emitted from the vehicle responsible for internal mechanical deterioration and other potential parasitic noises.
